Two channels of digital S/PDIF outputs are also provided. The six rear panel TRS line-level outputs are perfect for multi-channel playback, mixing and monitoring, while there are two independent headphone outputs on the front panel. Two channels of digital S/PDIF inputs enable connections to additional digital-equipped outboard equipment, while stereo ‘loopback’ allows two channels of audio to be routed from software applications directly into your DAW. Eight channels of ADAT digital input provide connectivity for external multi-channel preamps such as the Focusrite OctoPre MkII, vastly expanding the number of available mic inputs. Two additional TRS line inputs are provided along with a pair of instrument-level inputs on the front panel. The four mics inputs have switched phantom power two also include line inputs, accessed via XLR/TRS combination sockets. However, before updating to the newest build today, I was using 19042, which was already several builds after 1809, so I am convinced that it should work.Description FOCUSRITE SAFFIRE PRO 26 18-IN/8-OUT FIREWIRE AUDIO INTERFACEįirewire 18-in/8-out audio interface with four Focusrite mic preampsįocusrite’s Saffire range of Firewire audio interfaces underlines the fundamental features that distinguish the sound quality of Focusrite interfaces from the rest and make them class leaders: superb analogue/digital conversion quality, thanks to painstaking attention to detail in component choice and circuit design and Focusrite’s award-winning mic preamps, designed specially designed for our computer interface ranges with experience going back 30 years, to deliver clean, transparent sound with minimal noise and distortion. I reached out to Focusrite's excellent 24/5 instant chat support and their representative pointed me to this article, stating that, as per October 2019, Focusrite has ended developmental support for their Saffire FireWire range, thereby supposedly rendering Windows builds after 1809 incompatible with the device. Under Device Manager, it just shows up under "Other Devices" and cannot be used. I was using it just fine but uninstalled the driver today to solve a problem, and even after reinstalling Saffire MixControl, MixControl says no hardware is connected and Windows is not finding the driver to the device. I have a Saffire Pro 24 that is connected via FireWire to my computer running Windows 10 Home 64-bit Build 19043, which is the newest build as of 27 June 2021.
